Some Tunes for You

"We were so comfortable, living in each other's skin, I was dying from within."

This song succinctly describes my struggle. It's something that I believe happens to every early twenty-something as he or she is trying to find his/her place in the world. You learn who you love and then learn that tragically, love isn't enough sometimes. You learn the importance of your beliefs and convictions. You learn that the tiny sting of guilt is nothing compared to the torment of questioning everything you ever knew. It gets very existential very quickly. The entire process has been bittersweet, really. It's involved saying goodbye to some of my favorite human beings on God's green orb but it's also challenged my faith and, in the end, will have undoubtedly made it stronger. I am still a work in process but for the first time in a while, I can say that I know I'm going to be okay. This song is so beautiful and I'm glad to have rediscovered it. It's nice to know that whatever the struggle, you are not alone in the world. This goes out to all of you as well.
