Well hello folks! Those of you who follow me on Instagram know that I took a little trip this weekend with a few friends. No camera, no work. It was fun, a nice time off, and also very eye-opening. After coming home from China, I plunged into a bit of an identity crisis. I feel like most of the lifestyle-blog-lifestyle is sort of a watered-down version of real life. For me, I'd share snapshots of my happy moments, my cutest outfits, and the craftiest projects I've conjured up. That's only half of me though. Somewhere between last March when I began this blog and now, I became an empty shell of a person merely living in my "blog persona." China was a HUGE wakeup call, as my time there made me realize that everything else I do is kinda trivial. Now, call it a quarter-life crisis or call it growing up, but I'm learning a lot. I'm learning to just be real. As a part of this revelation, I'm introducing a new weekly feature called textures.
It's a simple concept, just a texture with a word. Here are a few of my last few weeks. A little bit of a roller coaster, no? I'm excited to see how it turns out and I'd love your feedback. Also, if any of you are thinking of doing the same, I'd love to follow your adventures. Here's to always growing.
xo,
e.m.
since I just started following i'm looking forward to reading your blog! The textures sounds like a fun creative thing :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you find yourself where you want to be, and I hope we get to meet her too.
ReplyDeleteI love this. Thanks so much for sharing your true honest feelings. I too feel like it's always important to keep growing even when you feel like you've grown up enough. It's important to always stay true to what you feel inside. If you can find ways to use a create outlet to do so, then props to you girl! I admire you.

It is so hard I can imagine to not literaly live in a « blog persona », for myself, this is my major reason why I do not blog that much, it is like a plus in the week when I am not feeling too serious about university papers. And it is also a way to keep me creative in other area than literature (my study domain). I really like this idea of a new feature and I totally admire you mature toughts, travel can change so many things...
