This time of year always gets a bit wild so if you're anything like me, planning outfits ahead of time is a luxury you simply cannot afford. It's just so time-consuming and I'll always forget to pick out clothes until the last possible minute-- like the night before big holiday get-together. Dressing up can be fun but when there's a million other things to do, it's likely the last thing on your mind. Fear not though. I went through and picked three of my favorite "holiday" looks so you can have some fresh inspiration. (And by "you guys," I also mean myself!)
Thanksgiving.
Alright, so I'll admit it. I was never the biggest Thanksgiving fan. I always liked it it only because it's always officially ushered in the time or year in which Christmas music is TOTALLY okay to listen to. (Even though I secretly listen to my Christmas playlist alone in my car as early as mid-November.) It's cozy and all but the whole "over-eating" thing never appealed to me and since I'm from Philly, I don't like any holiday that, in a sense, celebrates the Dallas Cowboys. I have to say though, Thanksgiving is growing on me. I'm particularly excited for this Thanksgiving because it will be the first one in THREE years that I'm not either working or sleeping all day to be awake for the overnight shift. I like that it's usually still warm enough so hang out with the family on the deck, cigar smoke filling the air and the Limoncello and/or Sambuca flowing. As far as outfits go, you can be cozy but casual for Thanksgiving.

That office holiday party you totally don't want to go to.
Haven't we all been there? You don't want to know about what these people are like outside of work and, quite frankly, you don't care. I don't think I've ever been to an office Christmas party but if I did, here's what I would wear: something sleek yet casual. Good enough to-- you know, look good-- but not "so" good that you'll be the unfortunate topic of conversation around the water cooler the next day. (Something that sadly happens.)
Christmas. (Or, for my Italian babes out there, La Vigilia.)
For us, Christmas Eve is kinda the main event whereas Christmas day is a time to chill and watch Home Alone and A Christmas Story. For as long as I can remember, we celebrated The Feast of the Seven Fishes with my dad's side of the family every Christmas Eve. I always dress up nicely but it doesn't matter because I end up changing into Christmas pajamas before the night is over. Just like Thanksgiving, this will be the first Christmas and Christmas Eve in a few years that I won't be alone overnight in a sad, cold TV news station. Gotta definitely kick it up a notch this year, though last year's outfit was pretty great.
