Schuylkill Banks at Sunset

When was the last time you saw me wearing sneakers? Sometimes I barely even wear them to the gym. (Because Vans don't count as actual sneakers, right?) And in a more "casual" context? Forget about it. Nonetheless, I'm trying to be all about expanding my horizons so when New Balance sent me these beauties, I worked them into my very non-athleisure wardrobe.

Naturally, I decided to take my new kicks for a spin on the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk. (Which, for non-locals, it's pronounced SKOO-kill.) I kept this look simple and monochromatic, topping it off with my beloved camel blazer and a PVC choker to keep it interesting. The shoes really made this outfit though-- wearing them, I felt like one of those cool "health goths." The style has been around for a while (30 years!) and got a facelift this spring. They're made here in the USA and mad comfy. (Why do I torture my feet with uncomfortable shoes?)
