All About Flowers & Blush

When I was in middle school, hot pink and black was the color combination du jour. I can still feel those jelly bracelets on my wrists and specifically recall my AIM profile: a pink Circle Takes the Square lyric with a black background. (I know. So edgy.) Now that I'm older, it makes me cringe a bit but I've still got a soft spot for pink and black. I like to think of dark floral and blush as the grown-up version of my angsty teen aesthetic.

All About Outerwear

I love me a good winter coat. If I had unlimited funds, I'd probably own one in every color and every style. I don't have a ton of cash at the moment though so I'll stick to admiring from afar. Here are a few of my favorite coats and scarves for this season -- especially that dreamy little striped number on the top left!

Oh, Snow.

It's been a pretty crappy past few days. I lost my temper on a few occasions, which is rare for me. (Well, in most cases.) I'm thankful for the snow. Just as it blankets the earth with its white, fluffy goodness, it's a new day and I have a new start. White. Fresh. Promising.

Snow Day

Snow will always be my favorite. As I'm starting to research smaller news markets to move to, I'm shuttering to think that I might end up in a warmer climate with no snow. Okay, so maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world but... it'd be pretty bad. Because I don't know where I'll be next winter, I'm soaking it all up. Today, Kim and I ventured into the woods and took some photos. I'm in love with this faux fur coat that I found at the thrift store. I've been wearing it pretty much nonstop since October. She looks like an ice queen, doesn't she?

winter swatches

When I shared my favorite colors and patterns for fall, you guys loved it so I decided to share my favorites for winter too! They're definitely not as pretty as my autumn ones but hey, winter is all about keeping warm! I'm excited to wear lots of velvet, faux fur, and winter coats! How about you?
