Denim Midi Skirt

I love an article of clothing that can transport me back to the good ole homeschooling days and this skirt really gets the job done. It's like something I could have worn to youth group with a little update: I traded in my corny graphic tee for a chic little crop top. Simple but effective.

I tried out a number of accessories with this outfit but nothing felt quite right. Sometimes, less is truly more. Channeling as much of the late 90's as I could, I paired my skirt/top combo with some mules and my favorite little bag. (Are Drew bags cool anymore? I hope so.) It's a little more toned-down from how I usually dress myself but I kinda love the simplicity. I knew I'd embrace minimalism eventually. 

That minimalism is also reflected in my hair and makeup here: sleek tresses, a bit of bronzer, and some brown eyeshadow. Sometimes that's all ya need! In the heat of July, who wants fussy curls and a face full of makeup? Not I.
