NYE with Chloe Johnston

minkpink, velvet, dress, habsa, chain, vest, harness, new years eve, philadelphia
This year is almost over and all I have to say is "good riddance." I can't wait to ring in the new year like I've never rang in the new year before. (Except I'll be working overnight... so I'll be doing it from my desk.) I was kind of bummed about not being able to dress up for NYE so it was kismet when Chloe Johnston asked me to put together some looks, I was all in.

This first look was one of my favorites. It's classy, minimalistic, and dare I say, a bit sexy. I paired this form-fitting velvet MINKPINK dress with this gem vest by Habsa. When I put on this outfit, all of my insecurities melted away and I felt 100% fierce

blogger, Chanel, Philadelphia, E.M. Ricchini, fashion, style, This second look is so fun! I rarely wear such colorful outfits but some special occasions just call for it. I started out with a tutu dress form Lauren Conrad's collection (yes, more velvet.) and added some of Chloe's fabulous accessories. This vintage-inspired Dior necklace is the perfect statement piece for almost every neckline. It was made in the early 2000's but was inspired a collection from the 1970's. To add even more texture, I went with a tweed Chanel bag from the mid-90's. (Don't you love how the flecks of color in the tweed match the dress and blazer?) I love the little bijoux chain. (Good job, Mr. Lagerfeld.)

Kim, Kardashian, Gucci, dress, blue, Camille Jeanne, LouboutinKim K made this Gucci dress famous back in 2012. (After wearing this dress, I have a newfound appreciation for Mrs. Kardashian-West's gravity-defying breasts.) I love how the timeless wrap shape looks with this open necklace by Cecile Jeanne
Balmain, Floor length skirt, YSL, Christian LacroixYSL, Goossens, sun, cuff, haute, couture,Last but certainly not least, I fell in love with this beautiful Balmain skirt. The skirt is special enough on its own but to really put it over the top, I added some pretty spectacular accessories. This vintage Saint Laurent sun cuff won my heart. It's a rare haute couture piece designed in the 1980's by Robert Goossens. Fun fact: it was included in the Metropolitan Arts and Design Museum Exhibition on Fashion Jewelry. It coordinated seamlessly with a Christian Lacroix necklace and either of these velvet YSL or Chanel bags.
Chloe's got such a unique and stunning collection. It had me swooning. Hard. She travels to Paris to find pieces and also offers customized city packages that let travelers shop around just like the locals. (WHAT? Sign me up!) What do you think about Chloe's collection? Check out the rest of it here.

  1. I think look one is my favourite just because it's so dramatic. NYE is probably the only day I could pull that off!

I'm about ready to give 2015 a solid kick as well. It was a year of really high highs but also some really low lows and I just can't wait for it to be done with!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
