Baby Blue

baby, blue, maxi, dress, summer, street, style, Philadelphia, fashion, ombre, balayageThis outfit reminds me of one of my favorites from last summer. I don't wear a lot of baby blue but when I do, I like to think that I kill it. (In a good way, of course.)

Changing gears a bit: I'm currently listening to the Theme from Jurassic Park and I might have shed a tear or two. That statement says a lot about my mental state at the moment. My feelings have been in constant flux lately and I'm starting to become emotionally exhausted. Ever have days/weeks/months like that? I'm just waiting for things to level off again. In the meantime, I'm trying to be a lot more intentional about what I'm filling my mind with. I've done a horrible job of keeping myself grounded this year and it's gotten me into irreparably damaging situations. (More on that later.) It seems like my life's them this year is just that: intentionality. I have no idea what the next few months will hold for me, I'm trying to figure out what makes me content and I'm just going to run with that.

  5. The first thing I thought when I saw this is a modern/awesome Anne of Green Gable. I love her and this dress!! Fun fact: I did an experiment where I didn't listen to music for 3 months and wrote down every song that came into my head. Jurassic Park theme song got in there at least a couple times a week. By far more than any other song. It even became a medley with Where are you Christmas at one point. The brain is a strange thing!
Hope you find yourself more centered soon. I've been dealing with a lot of stress/anxiety myself lately and have found fresh air, intentional breathing, and repeating a phrase has helped bring me back to a level place emotionally! :)

    1. Did you see my Instagram from yesterday? ~**ANNE OF GREEN GABLES VIBES**~ We've got some serious hive mind going on here, my lady. Also, HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU NOT LISTEN TO MUSIC FOR THREE MONTHS?? I would die. That seems like gross over-exaggeration but I think I actually would die. If you ever need somebody to chat with or vent to, I'm here! XO.

  6. I replied and I think Blogspot ate it! I did not see your insta but great minds do think alike! I was deep into the LOTR books on tape at work (lame. I know) and I realized it had been a few weeks since I listened to music. It snowballed from there! If I even need to vent into the universe your email better look out ;) haha Likewise if you even need a chat!

    1. Dammit blogspot, you had one job ;) that's amazing. Lately I feel like my head has been too full of music and my emotions too volatile for most of it so that actually seems like a good plan. Listening to funny podcasts and laughing is definitely a lot better than listening to sad Bonnie Raitt and crying in the car. And seriously, my ears and inbox are open. Any time :)
