smoothies for days!

As you may or may not know, I've been sitting on the couch for about a week recovering from wisdom tooth surgery. I'm still on a mostly liquid diet so I've gotten to try quite a few smoothies lately. I (and my mom, since the surgeon told me to not even use a blender for the first few days!) have been putting plenty of interesting liquids in my trusty Magic Blender. From avocados to pineapple juice to coconut water to kale to ginger ale to all different kinds of soups, to even a Chinese food dinner, my blender has seen it all. Here are two of my favorites: 

1. One banana, a LOT of peanut butter, and vanilla soy milk
2. 1/2 a can of beets, kale, pineapple juice and 4 or 5 frozen pineapple spears 

SIDE NOTE: If you're getting your wisdom teeth taken out, try drinking raw pineapple juice for one week before your surgery and then for a couple days afterwards. Pineapple, which contains a supplement called Bromelain, is one of the only natural anti-inflammatory agents. It'll help to keep down the swelling!
