my favorites for this spring

Love me some Spring. It's such a great season. I love snow, I love winter coats and boots, I love skiing and hot cocoa and every winter'y thing out there. But I have to say that nothing compares to that first day when you don't have to wear a jacket outside. It's so great. That day is when I know to pull out all of the florals and sheers, because warm weather is coming! Here are a few of my favorite things for this Spring season:

1. It's no secret that I LOVE shoes. Absolutely obsessed. Here are a few of my favorites this season. They're all very bright.
Floral form F21, Yellow Striped from 2 Lips Too, yellow peep toe flats from Target, Pink Glitter Toms, and Classics from Sperry

2. I absolutely love reading and journaling, especially when I can sit outside on the hammock! The two books that I've been into so far this season are Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Letters & Papers from Prison and Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground. (Dostoevsky is an all-time favorite!)

3. These are a few of my favorite spring accessories (my mom got me the owl pendant and the green necklace-- doesn't she have great taste?) And my sunhat, which protects my extremely pale and sensitive skin from sunburn. If you don't have a sunhat, you should invest in one!

4. Spring is the season before summer and therefore the period of time that you have before bathing suit and shorts to cleanse from a winter of bad eating habits and a lack of physical activity. I try to be outside as much as possible so I always have a snack on me! Trader Joe's Wasabi peas are a spicy snack that might even give you some Spring allergy relief by clearing out your sinuses. They're good alone or in a salad! Chile Spiced dried Mangoes are another favorite of mine. Spicy but sweet, just so good! If you like Kombucha (I'll be posting more information on this miracle drink soon!) try G.T.'s Synergy Kombucha in the Grape Chia flavor. I'm still researching all of the nutrition in this beverage but I can tell you right now that it is extremely high in antioxidants and probiotics, two things that you need lots of!

5. Although it says "Summer" on it, this is my Spring scent! In the warmer months, I don't like wearing perfume as much so I have a tendency towards sprays like this one. (Very Sexy Summer body spray from Victoria's Secret.) It smells WONDERFUL. Fruity, but still a little "sexy!"

6. An American pastime and an Erika'n pastime, baseball will forever be one of my favorite things. It's more of a feeling than a game to me! I love having baseball catches outside of my house, I love watching it on TV. Apparently CJ has a bunch of vintage baseball gloves to show me? I'm pretty excited.

7. There is some music that just seems to mesh so well with open windows and longer sunlight. For me, this is Local Natives' Gorilla Manor and Cat Stevens' The Teaser and the Firecat. Their cheerful melodies make a great transition from Winter to Summer.

In other news, I have a wedding tomorrow, one that I'm not shooting! Two of my very good friends are getting married tomorrow, and I could not be happier for them! The hardest part for me about shooting weddings is that I can't dance at the reception! This wedding is going to be a lot of fun, I can tell, and I CAN'T WAIT to dance! I'll let you know how it goes!

xo, e.m.
